Dear Family, Friends, and Partners in the Gospel,
Thank you for keeping up with God’s work in and around us! The last update went out in late May, so we’d like to take this opportunity to highlight some praises and requests that you can lift up in prayer:
Language Learning
We are finishing up the final weeks of a full-time Japanese lanugage course. Praise God for the opportunity to take a class that has stretched us, sometimes to the end of our nerves, and allowed us to grow! Please pray that we will finish wholeheartedly, making the most of every class. Also, we thank the Lord for having had opportunities to share the gospel with our classmates. Please pray that our classmates and teachers will be drawn to the light of Christ through us and the two other believers in the class.
Ministry
Praise the Lord for the many discipleship relationships He has placed us in! Especially for Terry, Taku, Usuke, and Rie—all believers with hearts for ministry who seem to be growing in their relationship with the Lord and serving Him in various ways. Please pray for wisdom as we continue to walk with them through life and ministry.
The Tokyo Trek7 team is arriving in just a few weeks! Please pray over these six young adults, that their seven weeks in Tokyo would be both enriching to their walks with Christ and a blessing to those God has prepared for their time of ministry. You can pray for us as we adjust to serving the team as something like ‘dorm parents’ and for John as he leads them in weekly devotions.
Family Life
As far as we know, Baby Lee is healthy and growing in his or her 23rd week—praise the Lord! Please continue to pray for a healthy pregancy and delivery this coming October. We’ve decided to stay in Tokyo for the birth and are so thankful for a nearby hospital full of kind, professional staff.
Pray also for our transition to long-term status with ReachGlobal. This includes doubling our financial support, completing additional training, as well as finding housing during our home-assignment in Iowa this winter.

We believe that your prayers have allowed us to be witnesses and instruments of God’s redeeming work in Tokyo. Thank you, always, for your partnership in the gospel!
