Joy-filled Christmas Opportunities…& Cookies Too

Merry Christmas from the Lees!
Joy in Sharing Christ at Christmas
Merry Christmas from the Lees! God came to be with us—what wonderful news! What a reason to celebrate. We pray that your Christmas will be filled with the joy of knowing that God so loved the world that He sent his one and only son. We’ve been grateful for several opportunities God has provided to share this good news of Christ with our Japanese friends, neighbors and people He has brought into our lives. We’ve been so blessed to reflect on the birth of Christ and share our joy with others.
Baby Cookie Party!
One of our notable events this month was hosting a Christmas cookie-making party for Brooke’s neighborhood playmates—five of them came with their mothers, making for a messy, crowded apartment and lots of sweet memories! We read the Christmas story of the birth of Christ and sent child-friendly gospel-centered Christmas tracts home with each family. Please pray with us for continued opportunities to share God’s love with these dear families!
Spontaneous Christmas Celebration!
We also hosted a dinner with our teammate Michiyo for two students from East Asia. It turned into a full-out Christmas celebration together! We read the story of Jesus’ birth, gave small gifts, made another batch of Christmas cookies and spent focused time in conversation. John felt prompted to share the full gospel with these young ladies, and we were amazed at their open hearts to listen and share their feelings. At the end of the night, we had no doubt that God had divinely planned this evening that wasn’t originally in our plans! One of the girls excitedly said, “I’ve never celebrated Christmas before!” What a gift to share our faith and the joy of Jesus’ birth.
As we sit back and reflect on this sweet season, we think of you and are deeply grateful for your care which keeps us going in life and ministry. God has shown us His very real love through dear friends and family time and time again, and we are so thankful to have you in our lives. Merry Christmas to you!

Recent Events & Prayer
We are planning our language schedule for the next term. Please pray for wisdom! We plan to gradually transition from full-time language to full-time ministry this coming year, and we hope to do this in a way that is healthy for our family and ministry-team life.
Please pray for Vincent and Tina, from Hong Kong, and the two grad students from East Asia. We are praying about starting a small group in our home to reach students with the Gospel, and these are a few of the people God has brought to mind we might invite.
Please lift up our team in unity and encouragement. We continue to work through plans and pray over the idea of house-church multiplication in Tokyo. These are exciting times in ministry, yet we are also vulnerable to attack at every corner! Please pray for loving hearts toward one another and for our spiritual protection.
